As the heat wave moves in, I am craving something cool and rum is always my first choice on a day boasting high temps. Sinking my toes in white sandy beaches was my first thought this week, however, since that is not an option, Shaun the Bartender provides me with an alternative. A delicious taste of the tropics.
Banana Cow
- 1 1/2 oz. Light Rum
- 3/4 oz. Crème de Banana
- 2 oz. Cream
- Splash of Grenadine
Method: Pour all contents into a shaker filled with ice. Shake well, then strain into a nicely chilled cocktail glass. Garnish with half a pealed banana and a maraschino cherry.
I want to mention that Shaun has an exciting project on the table called From the Bottle Up. Here is an excerpt from Shaun’s site;
From the Bottle, Up!” will feature us designing an entertainment room with a fully stocked bar. Our mission: 1)Designing a room with a $2000 budget in thirteen weeks. 2) With a budget of $50 per week, build up a bar stock. 3) Show drinks that can be made with the stock we build up weekly. Along with this, we will have appetizers and other food ideas that will only enhance the experience. It’s going to be a lot of fun!
For those of you who follow us, thanks for your support. If you could share this project with those you feel would be interested, so we can meet our funding, it would be very much appreciated. This show will help us move forward on bringing other things your way and help in building what we have already started. Thanks, again for being part of this from the beginning. Who knows where this will lead us.
I do recommend that you take a moment and watch Shaun concoct this little beauty at the link below. Also, pop over to his site and hit the follow button. There is a new cocktail every day for your imbibing and entertaining pleasure.
