Al Pastor Chicken Street Tacos

Al Pastor is traditionally prepared with pork, but works equally well with chicken. La Tortilla Factory’s Al Pastor Skillet Sauce Starter makes these tacos a snap. Top with a grilled pineapple salsa for a truly authentic touch.

Directions

Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add chicken, stirring occasionally until browned, about 5 minutes. Add two-thirds of Sauce Starter and cook, uncovered until chicken is cooked through and sauce is thickened, 2-3 minutes. Add remaining Sauce Starter, toss to coat and remove from heat. Smoky Slow-Cooked Beef TacoThese smoky barbacoa beef tacos are better than Chipotle’s with the help of our luscious, Barbacoa Slow Cooker Sauce Starter. Serve with lime wedges and pickled onions for a perfectly paired compliment to this indulgent dish.

Prep time:  15 min | Cook time: 8 hours (including slow cooker time)

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon oil (optional)
  • 2 pounds boneless beef chuck roast, cut into 2-3 inch pieces
  • 1 package La Tortilla Factory’s Cocina Fresca Barbacoa Slow Cooker Sauce Starter
  • 1/3 cup water
  • 1 package La Tortilla Factory Non-GMO Hand Made Style Tortillas, Original Flour

Directions

Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Brown meat on all sides. Pace meat in a slow cooker. In a small bowl, whisk water and Slow Cooker Sauce Starter until smooth; pour over meat. Cover and cook on high for 8 hours or until meat is fork tender. Remove meat from slow cooker and shred. Serve with warm La Tortilla Factory tortillas and your favorite toppings!

Directions

In a large bowl, combine half of the Sauce Starter with shrimp or fish; toss to coat. Heat oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add shrimp and cook, stirring often, until pink and opaque. 3-5 minutes (or if using fish, until cooked through). Transfer to a serving plate; add remaining Sauce Starter to skillet and heat for 30 seconds. Pour sauce over shrimp or fish. Serve with warm La Tortilla Factory tortillas and your favorite toppings!
