“Why do have so many roses?”
Roses serve as an indicator species.
Think canary in a coal mine…Roses are very sensitive to pests: aphids and thrips, and issues such as powdery mildew, downy mildew and rust as well as mineral and nutrient deficiencies.
When we see the roses showing signs of an issue, it tells us it’s time for us to take action. We can attend to the vineyard’s needs BEFORE the problems move into the vineyard. And they smell so wonderful!!!
