“We are thrilled to have the opportunity to purchase an exceptional vineyard such as Platt. Sites of this caliber are extremely rare,” says Eric Flanagan. “Lew and Joan Platt did a world class job creating the vineyard blocks and planting the vines back in 2003 and 2004. We believe Platt may be the greatest Pinot Noir and Chardonnay vineyard in California.”
In addition to being a key new source for the Flanagan Vineyards’ vineyard designated wine program, Platt Vineyard will continue to supply grapes to current buyers Littorai, Ramey, RadioCoteau, Scherrer and Red Car. The Platt Vineyard is comprised of Pinot Noir (17 acres), Chardonnay (13 acres), and Riesling (1.5 acres).
Clonal Diversity: Pinot Noir: Calera, Pommard 5, Swan, 115, 123, 777, 828 Chardonnay: Wente, 548
