Walton Goggins: A Dynamic Actor, Storyteller, and Partner of Mulholland Distilling

Walton Goggins: A Force of Talent, Charm, and Craft

When it comes to the world of entertainment and craft spirits, few figures are as captivating and multifaceted as Walton Goggins. With a career spanning decades, Goggins has carved out a reputation not just as a brilliant actor, but as a cultural storyteller, producer, and passionate entrepreneur. His partnership with Mulholland Distilling, a celebrated name in California craft spirits, reflects the same authenticity and artistry that have defined his acting career — both are rooted in character, creativity, and a love for community.

From Gritty Drama to Sharp Comedy — And Now The White Lotus

Goggins’ screen presence is magnetic. He first gained widespread acclaim as the complex and charismatic Boyd Crowder in FX’s Justified, a role that earned him an Emmy nomination and cemented his place in TV history. He continued to redefine himself in HBO’s hit series, from the scheming preacher Baby Billy Freeman in The Righteous Gemstones to the darkly hilarious Lee Russell in Vice Principals.

Now, viewers have already experienced Walton Goggins’ powerful turn as Rick Hatchett in The White Lotus Season 3—set on a lush Thailand resort and fully aired from February 16 to April 6, 2025. Critics praised Goggins’ portrayal of a brooding, complicated guest caught in emotional turbulence and eerie resort mysteries. NPR called the season “soul‑searching,” spotlighting its deep dive into dark family secrets and social satire NPR. Meanwhile, reviews highlight Goggins’ standout work: TVLine even named him “Performer of the Week” in March for a scene showcasing Rick’s sincere, vulnerable connection amid suspense.

Season 3’s eight-episode run proved to be the most-watched so far, averaging over 20 million viewers across HBO and Max—the finale alone drew 6.2 million during linear airings. Set against Thailand’s stunning backdrop—from Bangkok to Phuket and Ko Samui—the show leaned into a slower, more introspective tone, balancing striking visuals with Mike White’s dark humor.

In short, Goggins didn’t just feature—he anchored a season defined by mystery, cultural tension, and emotional depth. His character’s journey, from surface-level melancholy to raw emotional reckoning, elevated the season’s introspective pulse.

More Than an Actor — A Storyteller, Producer, and Craftsman

Goggins’ talents extend far beyond the camera. As a producer (The Accountant, Predators, The Unicorn) and a natural storyteller, he is known for his ability to connect deeply with audiences — whether through interviews, podcasts, or his passionate discussions about craft. Mulholland Dalmation

Ingredients

  • 2 ounces Mulholland Vodka
  • 6 ounces fresh grapefruit juice
  • .5-ounces black pepper simple syrup

Directions

Black Pepper Simple Syrup

Prepare the black pepper simple syrup. To make the syrup, you will need equal parts water and granulated sugar, along with black pepper. In a small saucepan, combine 1/2 cup water, 1/2 cup granulated sugar, and 1 teaspoon black pepper. Heat the mixture over medium heat, stirring occasionally until the sugar has dissolved completely. Remove from heat and let it cool. Strain out the black pepper using a fine-mesh sieve or cheesecloth. Set aside.

  1. Squeeze fresh grapefruit juice. Take 2 to 3 medium-sized grapefruits and cut them in half. Using a citrus juicer or a manual reamer, extract the juice from the grapefruits. Strain the juice to remove any pulp or seeds. Measure 6 ounces of fresh grapefruit juice and set it aside.
  2. In a cocktail shaker, combine 2 ounces of Mulholland Vodka, 6 ounces of fresh grapefruit juice, and 1/2 ounce of the black pepper simple syrup.
  3. Fill the cocktail shaker with ice cubes. Securely close the shaker.
  4. Shake vigorously for about 15 seconds to thoroughly chill the drink and mix the flavors.
  5. Prepare your serving glass. If you prefer a salted rim, rub a grapefruit wedge around the rim of a glass and dip it into a plate with kosher salt, pepper or rimming salt. This step is optional and depends on your personal preference.
  6. Strain the cocktail mixture from the shaker into the prepared glass. You can use a Hawthorne strainer or a fine-mesh strainer to achieve a smooth pour without any ice or pulp.
  7. Garnish the cocktail. You can add a grapefruit wedge or a twist of grapefruit peel to the rim of the glass for an extra touch of presentation. Optionally, you can also sprinkle a pinch of freshly ground black pepper on top of the drink for an added flavor accent.
