Friday Cocktail Hour; The Nutcracker by Shaun Daugherty
We have been through a few days of scorching late summer temps and nothing beats the heat like a plate of fresh fruit and a refreshing cocktail. The tropical climate had left me parched for rum and as always our resident Cocktail Specialist Shaun Daugherty had the perfect concoction to appease my thirst.
- Juice of 1 1/2 Lemons
- 1 1/2 oz. Coconut flavored Rum
- 1 oz. Cognac
- 1 oz. Pineapple Juice
Method: In a shaker filled half way with ice, first squeeze in the lemons, throwing away the remnants after doing so. Pour in the measured amounts of the other ingredients. Cap with a mixing glass and shake well. Strain into a nicely chilled cocktail glass.
Add a little fruit juice and citrus to the blend and you have yourself a nice sipper while mixing it with friends in the heat of the season. While you are making yourself one, be sure to remember your friends!
