On May 15, the Seattle Seahawks will receive The Moyer Foundation’s 2014 Humanitarian Award during the Foundation’s annual Champions for Children Annual Giving Luncheon at the Washington State Convention Center. More than 500 people are expected to attend the noon luncheon, where former Seattle Mariner pitcher Jamie Moyer and his wife, Karen, will speak on behalf of their Foundation, which they started in Seattle nearly 15 years ago. Seahawks offensive tackle, Russell Okung, and Vice President of Community Relations, Mike Flood, will accept the award for the team.
The Seahawks are being honored for their excellence both on and off the field, recognizing the team’s commitment to giving back to the Seattle community and celebrating the sense of community spirit generated by the team’s dedication to “The 12th Man.” Past recipients of the foundation’s annual Humanitarian Award have included Hall of Famer Cal Ripken, Jr., former Seattle Mariner Edgar Martinez, Washington native and Philadelphia Eagle Jon Dorenbos, and ski-legend Warren Miller.
The Moyer Foundation’s Champions for Children Annual Giving Luncheon – its largest signature event in Seattle – brings together community members, civic leaders and corporate partners to celebrate and support the Foundation’s mission to provide comfort, hope and healing to children affected by loss and family addiction.
Tickets – There is no charge to attend the event, but you must register to ensure your seat. Suggested minimum donation is $150. RSVP Here.
