“Super Bowl” of Chili
Over here at Celebrating Home with Karie Engels we are always working to find you the best of the best. Our goal is to take the stress out of surfing the web trying to find that perfect recipe or to find sites that don’t make your eyes bug out with flashy ads.
My goal this week is to find the greatest chili recipes for game day festivities that there are. We are running a contest over on our FB page to pull in the best recipes from our readers and we will publish the winning entry here on the blog and in the Tacoma Home and Living Section of Examiner.com. Yes, our crew will be stewing up some of these recipes and taste testing all week for Saturday’s article, so stay tuned.
In the meantime, I had to share a couple of our blog finds with you that we thought were the best of the best. You have a few days to test and tweak a recipe or two before game day and make it uniquely your own. If you would like to make an entry ~ you have until Thursday ~ send me an email at KarieEngels@KarieEngels.net and we will put it to the test. Good Luck!!
Sue Doeden’s All About Food Blog has a Wicked Chili that packs some real heat with Serrano, Jalapeno and Anaheim peppers. The original recipe calls for 2 pounds of spicy pork sausage for which Sue substituted beef. It is a great read and an even better recipe. While you are linked in to her site, browse and scour for more concoctions.
I am amazed at all of the versions of chili we have found over the past two weeks. One of my favs is Country Living’s Sweet and Spicy Pork Chili ~ Granted, it is not your traditional chili flavor as the recipe calls for coconut milk, ginger, soy sauce and orange juice, it is however, a complete delight to the taste buds and I highly recommend that you give this one a go.
A huge platter of Nachos, a pot of Chili, some great brews and good friends will make any game day absolutely perfect. Enjoy!
