how to make simple herb compound butter

Simple, delicious compound butters are perfect companions for summertime dishes.

Compound ButterIngredients

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • dash salt, to taste
  • 1 Tablespoon fresh herbs, minced
    Choose your faves! Basil and parsley or rosemary, thyme and sage ~ the combinations are endless.

Our choice for our Naked Corn on the Cue is:

Ingredients

  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • dash salt, to taste
  • sprinkling pepper
  • lime zest
  • Cilantro, minced

Compound Butter IIDirections
Using a spatula, combine well and spoon onto wax paper. Roll into a log, secure ends and chill at least 2 hours.

Note
A crumbling of cheese, blue or Parmesan works well for meat dishes. When creating your own flavor profiles, use more of what you like, less of what you don’t. Twist and tweak, make it all your own.
