I know what you’re thinking. How is this different than any other week?

This week is editor’s choice and I thought I would share my favorite cocktail recipes with readers, and I would really like to know what your favorite cocktail is!

The Select Spritz


Ingredients

  • 3 Parts La Marca Prosecco
  • 2 Parts Select Aperitivo
  • 1 Splash Soda Water
  • Garnish: 1 Large Green Olive

Directions

  1. Pour Select, La Marca Prosecco, and soda water into a wine glass over ice.
  2. Top with a large green olive.

Sinfully Delicious Autumn Shandy’s

Summer’s last kiss was sweet as Mother Nature ushered in autumn and these sinfully, delicious sips are perfect for the arrival of fall. Pull up a chair and enjoy!
Turning your favorite brew into an innovative “beer-tail” couldn’t be simpler with The Perfect Purée.  Manny’s Shandy, created by Manny Hinojosa with Magnolia beer, apple cider, The Perfect Purée White Peach Purée and nutmeg is a refreshing sip that blends distinct flavors of summer and fall in a light, citrusy drink

Bitter & Twisted by The Cocktail Guru, Jonathan Pogash also uses The Perfect Purée White Peach Purée in a completely different iteration, mixing ginger beer and IPA to beat the heat.  Lynnette Marrero’s Sun & Moon Shandy mixes The Perfect Purée Thai Basil & Black Pepper with Ginger Purée to make a base that can go light or dark depending on your mood, just add Hefeweizen or Porter.

Manny's Shandy

  • 1 ounce The Perfect Purée White Peach Purée
  • 1/2 ounce fresh lemon juice
  • 1/2 ounce simple syrup
  • 2 ounces Apple cider
  • 2 ounces Magnolia beer
  • Dash of nutmeg powder
Method:
  1. In a mixing glass combine all the ingredients with ice except beer. Shake and serve over the rocks, top with beer.
  2. Serve in a Collins glass. Garnish with lemon slice.

Bitter & Twisted

Ingredients
  • 1 ounce The Perfect Purée White Peach Purée
  • 1/2 ounce Purely ginger syrup
  • 3 dashes Jerry Thomas decanter bitters
  • 2 ounce Free Will IPA
Method:
Shake first three ingredients with ice and strain over ice into rocks glass.  Top off with the IPA. Garnish with floating lime wheel.

Sun & Moon Shandy

  • Porter or Hefeweizen
  • 2 1/4 ounces The Perfect Purée Thai Basil & Black Pepper
  • 1 tsp The Perfect Purée Ginger Purée
Method:
Combine ingredients. Shake with one ice cube and double strain into a highball glass over ice. Top with a Porter for a Moon version. Top with a light beer or Hefeweizen for a Sun version.

Harvest parties, Halloween and Thanksgiving are all just around the corner and of course it’s never too early to begin planning your cocktail menus. Over the next couple of weeks we will share our favorite fall cocktails with you and of course you can always find more in our printed page.

All of these work well for small gatherings or large groups and if you are having friends over to watch the game on the big screen or even just kicking back by the evening fire, these autumn-inspired cocktails are perfection.

Below are three recipes to help get you in the mood for fall whether it’s a drink for one or cocktails for 25. Enjoy!

Spiced Apple

  • Difficulty: Sinfully Simple

  • 1 ounce Tap 357 Maple Rye Whisky
  • 2 ounces Ginger Beer
  • 2 ounces Apple Cider

Directions

Build all ingredients in a rocks glass with ice and stir.  Garnish with a wedge of apple.

Caramel Apple Sangria

  • Difficulty: Sinfully Simple

Serves 25-30

  • 1 (750ml) btl Van Gogh Dutch Caramel Vodka
  • 2 btls sparkling wine or champagne
  • 1 quart fresh apple cider
  • 2 apples, sliced
  • Ground cinnamon
  • Cinnamon sticks

Directions

Combine vodka, apple cider and cinnamon in a punch bowl. Let sit for 30 minutes. Add an ice block and apple slices. Pour into glasses and top with chilled sparkling wine.

Plymouth Punch

  • Difficulty: Sinfully Simple

Serves 25

  • 1 (750ml) btl Van Gogh Wild Appel Vodka
  • 1 (750ml) btl Tap 357 Maple Rye Whisky
  • 2 cups pomegranate juice
  • 2 cups apple cider
  • 1 cup lemonade

Directions

Add all ingredients to a punch bowl with ice.   Stir well to chill and dilute.  Let sit in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.  Garnish with cranberries, apple, orange, and lemon slices**.  Serve out into punch glasses.

**Optional – Stud fruit with cloves.
